A new wave of strikes starts at the Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex

After 18 months of strikes and protests, the workers at the Bandar Imam Petrochemical Complex enforced their demands and achieved an agreement with the management to eliminate the subcontracting companies and signing contracts directly between workers and Petrochemical Co. (BIPC)
In June this year began the process of signing direct contract with the workers, but since then only 30% of contracts have been converted. So, the promises are not fulfilled and the workers at the Kimia Bandar Imam Co. went on strike on 28 of October to protest against this situation.
The workers announced that if the promises are not fulfilled promptly they will continue and upscale their strike from single companies of BIPC into an area-wide strike after the upcoming holidays.
