Mohammad Jarahi transferred to hospital

Worker activist Mohammad Jarahi was transferred handcuffed to a hospital in the city of Tabriz, because of severe pain.

He is suffering from a disease of the throat and larynx. The hospital personnel were expressly instructed that he is banned on visitors. Nevertheless his family insisted on a visit and finally got the change to visit him for a few minutes.

Jarahi is member of the Committee to Pursue the Establishment of Workers Organizations, a group campaigning for the establishment of independent trade unions in Iran; he is currently serving the 5 years prison sentences in Tabriz prison in north-west of Iran.
