Jamil Sowaydi´s dead body was recognized quite accidentally by one of his
friends in the mortuary of the City Ahwaz and his family was informed. Jamil
(45 years old) an Arab citizen lived in Lashkar-Abad district of Ahwaz city.
According to human rights activists in Iran, Jamil was a worker in a welding
shop and was arrested by security forces at his home about one month ago. His
family tried several times in vain at the police office and security forces to
ask about his whereabouts.
His body was not delivered to his family and buried few days ago.
Though apparently he has been killed under torture, the reasons and
circumstances of his arrest and death are uncertain.
