The petrochemical workers´ cooperatives will not replace the manpower contractors

Based on this report, the authorities had promised earlier that after the formation of workers´ cooperatives, they will sign employment contracts with these cooperatives, rather than outsourcing work to the contracting companies. Now that workers bear the heavy costs and have formed cooperatives, the authorities say “we can't leave this important issue to workers´ cooperatives”.

It is to mention that in December 2012, a letter signed by Ahmadreza Haraf (Director of human resource development of the national petrochemical industries)was issued that permits the workers´ cooperatives to sign employment contracts with petrochemical industries, for a period of three consecutive years. This letter stated that workers, who have not been contracted directly, will be hired via workers´ cooperatives.
